About Alan
Alan has been an open water swimmer since 2004. Since then, he has participated in numerous swims of all distances. In 2011, Alan completed a solo crossing of the 12.4-mile Santa Barbara Channel from Anacapa Island to Oxnard, California; the 17-mile Rose Pitonof Centennial Swim from East 26th Street to Coney Island; and the 24-mile Tampa Bay Marathon Swim. In 2010, he completed the 8-mile Boston Light Swim.
Alan lives in New York where he is an attorney specializing in biotechnology and pharmaceutical law. He has travelled to over 40 countries, and has a special interest in the developing world. Before taking up swimming, he trekked in the Bolivian Andes and climbed Mt.
Kilimanjaro.
Alan is a proud member of the Vanderbilt Y Masters Team, and the Coney Island Brighton Beach Open Water Swimmers (CIBBOWS).
