Hometown: Bend, Oregon
I am a 51 year old husband, father, entrepreneur and marathon swimmer. I have been blessed since I began swimming at the age of 17 to swim fast and far. I swam in the 1984 Olympic Trials in 3 individual events and finished in the top 25 in the world in the 400IM in the same year.
Following trials, I went onto win 4 consecutive 10 mile Seal Beach Rough water swims. In 1985 I began my work career the technology sector and since become a serial tech entrepreneur and my current work is as the founder and CEO of TeamUnify, a rapidly growing technology company that develops and provides tools for swim teams to better manage themselves and now serves over 2,000 swim teams around the world.
While working, swimming was never far away and kept competing in many Master Nationals between 1986 and 1993 winning 30+ National Titles. In 1991 at the age of 31, my :56 100 Breast, 2:02 200 Breast, 1:51 200IM and 4:00 400IM swum at USMS Nationals remain ranked in the top 10 fastest events/times ever swum by any masters swimmer.
Between 1993 with the birth of our identical twin daughters, plus one more daughter two years later and 2010, when I turned 50, I focused energy on my wife, children and work. Other than a 2nd place finish in the 24 Mile Tampa Bay swim in 2002, I only swum to stay in touch and centered.
Now current day: Swimming marathons has regained a significant amount of my time and attention and am now focused on swimming the famed triple crown.
