Began long distance open water swimming when older sons were swimming on swim team in high school. Focused on "speedo-only" cold water swims in Northeast US but have swum Alcartraz race 8 times. Trains Therapy Dogs and doctoral student in health care research. Wife is a physician. Participant in Maui Channel relay once and Boston Light as 2 and 3 person relay three times. Numerous solo swims of 2.5-5 miles.
