Family lore has it that I could swim before I could walk. When I was five I won a ribbon in a one hundred yard open water race in Winthrop Massachusetts. In the late 70's I started running. I have completed thirty three marathon distance races. In 1980 I competed in my first triathlon and since then have competed in many endurance triathlon races including Ironman distances. In 2009 my son joined NYC Swim and rekindled my desire to participate in endurance open water events.
