Description

Manhattan Plaza WaterWorks is the resident Synchronized Swim Team at Manhattan Plaza Health Club. The championship Manhattan Plaza WaterWorks team produces shows at the health club pool, competes nationally at United States Synchronized Swimming meets, and also performs professionally on television, for press conferences and pool openings, for industrial films, and for private parties. WaterWorks has made a specialty of combining both the art of dance and the sport of synchronized swimming, and is known for its creative and balletic New York style. WaterWorks has worked with some of the premiere synchronized swimmers in the world, including Hall of Fame world champion Jackie Douglass, US national solo champion Bill May, Swiss national champion Gabriela Gentilini, and US national team coach Julie Thaden. WaterWorks has also worked with modern dance choreographers to create water-specific works incorporating the synchronized swimming vocabulary. Members of the WaterWorks team include champion swimmers, professional dancers and actors, and other creative artists.
