Take the (R) to Rector Street or take the (4,5) to Bowling Green. Walk due west. Cross West Street into Battery Park City. Continue walk west to the promenade along Hudson River and head to south to South Cove.

Take the M9, M10, or M22 to Battery Park City.

Pier 26 is located at North Moore Street between Canal and Chambers Streets on the river side of the West Side Highway (Route 9A/West Street). You can only approach the pier driving southbound from the West Side Highway. Limited parking is available on Chambers Street. (We suggest that you use mass transit to get to and from the race finish.)
By Subway
Take the 1, 2, 3 or the A, C, E to Chambers Street; walk west and cross West Street/Route 9A. Turn right immediately, heading north to Pier 26. OR take the 1 to Franklin Street, cross West Street/Route 9A and head south for Pier 26. (Landmarks: Pier 26 is just north of the mini-golf area and is marked by the Downtown Boathouse.) |

| Age Requirement: | 15 years and over |
| Experience Requirement: | Safety concerns require us to ensure that every participant in a NYC Swim swim event has adequate swim experience; thus we have set certain qualifying standards for participation in each of our events. Your registration for a NYC Swim swim is not complete until the NYC Swim receives acceptable evidence of your qualifying swim. The experience requirement for participating in the Park to Park One Miler Swim is as follows:
The completion of any
NYC Swim open water swim, Aquathlon or open water swim
clinic within the past three years (2003 - 2005)
----OR---
Any DOCUMENTED timed open water swim
race of 3/4 Mile or more within the past three years (2003 - 2005)
----OR---
Any DOCUMENTED Sprint Triathlon with a
timed Open Water Swim within the past three years (2003 - 2005)
----OR---
Pool
Certification, in a manner consistent with the sample verification letter
which can be accessed here, documenting the completion of a continuous 1 mile pool swim in 45
minutes or better and faxed to 212-784-6850. Your qualifying swim must take place no earlier than March 1st of the current year, and all pool certifications must be received by NYC Swim at least 14 days prior to the date of the race. |

There can be a substantial amount of chop in the water from wind & tide action. The waterways are salt-water and there is shipping traffic. There may be random jetsam & flotsam in the waterways. |
