Enrollment for the 2013 Ederle Swim is now closed.
A fabled course, a swim pioneer and icon, and a variety of swim conditions come together in this legendary marathon swim. From the shores of Manhattan through bustling New York Harbor and under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, this 17.5-mile swim ends with a beach finish in Sandy Hook, New Jersey. Along the way, swimmers see the Statue of Liberty, Governors Island, the beaches of Staten Island, beautiful lighthouses, the supertanker thoroughfare that is Ambrose Channel, and a multitude of other sights.

Take the N, R to Rector Street or the 4, 5 to Bowling Green. Walk due west. Cross West street into Battery Park City. Continue to walk west to the Promenade along the Hudson River and head north to North Cove Yacht Harbor.
By Bus:
Take the M9, M10, or M22 to Battery Park City.
On Foot:
North Cove Yacht Harbor is downtown, in Battery Park City, adjacent to the World Financial Center's Winter Garden.
By Ferry:
Take the NY Waterway Ferry to the World Financial Center. From the ferry landing, walk southeast to the marina/harbor.
By Car:
Drive south on West Street (Westside Highway) and turn right onto Vesey Street. Enter the World Financial Center through the Courtyard entrance and follow signs to the marina/harbor. (Due to limited parking, we suggest that you use mass transit to get to and from North Cove.)

Please note: For the 2013 Ederle Swim, swimmers are responsible for the payment (cash preferred) to the boat captain on race day at the time of boat loading. In 2012, the fee was $755. The fee will be adjusted higher or lower depending on gasoline prices. | | Awards: | Certificates will be presented at a ceremony following the completion of the event. | | Age Requirement: | 19 years and over (younger swimmers may be accepted based on swimming experience). | | Experience Requirement: | Qualification requirements are located here. | | Predicted Water Conditions: | Approximately 73 °F to 79 °F (23.2 °C to 25.9 °C). There can be a substantial amount of chop in the water from wind, tide action, and boat traffic. The waterways are salt water and there is shipping traffic.
