Open Water Swim Clinic - Advanced

NYC Swim will present two Open Water Swim clinics this fall to help you prepare for and enhance your open water swim experience.

Level Three - Advanced Open Water Swimming consists of one evening session (Friday, Sept 23) and is designed for those who have a solid base of open water experience and who want to enhance their open water race skills. During this clinic's session, your freestyle stroke will be reviewed and key race strategies will be covered -- fast starts and finishes; advanced sighting and navigation skills; and drafting, passing and pacing skills will be enhanced.

This year, the coaches for this clinic will be Eva Fabian, 2010 5K Open Water World Champion and winner of the 2011 10K Open Water National Championships, and her coach, Jack Fabian, USA National team and 2011 World Championship coach.

Due to the heavy rains and the impact they have on visibility, we are not holding the clinic today. Weather permitting, we will hold the clinic after the Little Red Lighthouse Swim tomorrow morning at 11:15 a.m. at the north end of West Harlem Piers Park. Even if you are not participating in the swim, we hope you will be able to make it for the clinic. Directions for getting to West Harlem Piers Park can be found on the Little Red Lighthouse Swim event page.
