Weston's Boudreau Places in Manhattan Swim Contest

| David Boudreau, 38, of Weston, was the top American finisher at the Swim Around Manhattan Island competition. Boudreau of the Gold Coast Hammerheads finished third in 7 hours, 25 minutes and 23 seconds for 12.5 miles. Australia's Tammy Van Weiss won the overall title in 7:15:57. ... The Palm Beach County Sports Commission was awarded three national championships to host. They are the November 1998 and 1999 U.S. Field Hockey National Festival at the Palm Beach Polo and Country Club in Wellington; the Nov. 28-30 Delray Beach Inline Hockey Invitational at the Delray Beach Tennis Center; and the Feb. 12-16, 1998 USA Roller Skating Quad National Speed Skating Championships. |
